Guilty. 55 year old Chad Daybell was convicted yesterday of killing his wife and his new girlfriend’s two youngest kids in a strange triple murder case that included claims of apocalyptic prophesies, zombie children and illicit affairs. It took Jurors six hours of deliberation and caped a case that began in 2019. Today jurors will be tasked with deciding if he should be sentenced to death.
An Idaho high school graduate took an unusual form of protest at her graduation when she offered a book to the school district’s superintendent, who had banned it months earlier. Annabelle Jenkins was one of 44 graduates to have her name called during the Idaho Fine Arts Academy graduation ceremony in Boise Sunday. Jenkins paused in front of West Ada School District Superintendent Derek Bub and pulled out “The Handmaid’s Tale”. Bub stood firm with his arms crossed and declined the book, leaving Jenkins to drop it at his feet.
Idaho Department of Water Resources Director Mathew Weaver issued a curtailment order yesterday that requires 6,400 junior groundwater rights holders who pump off the Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer to shut off their water. The order would affect groundwater users that the Idaho Department of Water Resources said are not in compliance with state mitigation plans.
Fourth District Judge Nancy Baskin entered a not-guilty plea on Nicholas Umphenour’s behalf Wednesday. He is accused of ambushing an Idaho Department of Correction Officer at Boise’s Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center to help Skyler Meade escape custody.

The Twin Falls chamber of commerce cut the ribbon for one of the biggest American flags ever made. It’s for the Magic Valley 9-11 memorial. The flag name the patriot, will fly over the canyon. It’s 150 by 78 feet tall making it 1 of 5 biggest ever created in the world.
Monitoring the Mid-Snake River for quagga mussel larvae will be an on-going effort and priority of the Idaho State Department of Agriculture. The ISDA is prepared to double quagga mussel sampling efforts across Idaho, with an emphasis on the Mid-Snake River.
