Both of Idaho's representatives to the U.S. House, the entire Idaho Legislature, county offices and dozens of funding proposals are on the ballot for this month's primary. Tomorrows 2024 Idaho Primary Election will determine which candidates will represent all parties in the general election in November.
Patrons statewide can expect to see school district requests on the ballots. Voters across 40 counties will be asked to fund local bonds or levies, totaling $209 million. Locally 9 million in Camas County and 8.25 million in Castleford. For Supplemental Levy’s, 700,000 in Glenns Ferry. 1.3 million In Buhl. A 5.59 million dollar in Cassia County. 360-thousand in Richfield, 600-thousand in Shoshone, 3.7 million in Blaine County and a 1.2 million in Wendell.
Six people were killed and 10 others were sent to the hospital after a crash that occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday in Idaho Falls. A Ram pickup was eastbound on U.S. 20 when it collided with a westbound Chevrolet passenger van. The driver of the van, along with five passengers, died at the scene. The driver of the pickup, and the remaining van passengers, were taken to the hospital.
The Idaho State Tax Commission is sending out more than 25,700 billing letters to taxpayers who filed individual and business income tax returns this year but haven’t paid the total amount due. The bills include the tax owed, plus any penalties and interest that apply. Payments were due April 15. Starting today the Tax Commission will follow up by phone calls.
Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred near the Ustick Road Mobile Home Park in Caldwell around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Roughly 25 shots were fired, resulting in several homes and vehicles being struck by gunfire. There have been no reports of any individuals being hit by gunfire.
Police are investigating a single vehicle rollover crash that occurred yesterday morning, on 3700 N at 550 E in Twin Falls County. A 19-year-old male, from Kimberly, was westbound when the driver left the roadway and the vehicle rolled.
