The former Idaho State Police trooper convicted of killing his wife was sentenced to life behind bars on Thursday.  Daniel Charles Howard's sentencing is the culmination of years' worth of investigation into the death of Kendy Howard, which was initially, ruled a suicide. Kendy was found dead with a gunshot wound in her bathtub in her Athol home in February of 2021. Howard wasn't employed with the Idaho State Police at the time of the murder.



President Joe Biden easily took home a win in Thursday’s Idaho Democratic Presidential Caucus.  According to the Idaho Democratic Party, Biden won over 95% of the vote and secured 23 pledged delegates for the National Democratic Convention.



Governor Brad Little has hired his own lawyer in the lawsuit challenging the Idaho Legislature’s move to tank a planned sale of the vacant Idaho Transportation Department campus.  The move withdraws representation from Attorney General Raúl Labrador who last week filed a response brief on behalf of the Board of Examiners without the board’s approval.



Some AT&T and Verizon customers in Idaho reported that their 911 calls are not going through.  The Idaho Falls police say some calls made to 911 through certain cellphone providers such as Verizon and AT&T are not going through to 911.  Because it is a carrier problem and not a local technical problem, there is no telling when it will be resolved.



Shrine Football returns to magic valley this weekend.  The 46th annual game will bring the top seniors around the area together to compete in the game at the Burley High School.  There will be an 8-man and 11-man football game. It will be North vs. South, with I-84 being the dividing line.  The 8-man game will start at 3:30, and the 11-man matchup will start at 6:00.



As graduating students leave schools in Idaho, they are leaving high school with college credits piled up and a college degree in hand.  The latest numbers show 409 students across the Gem State were able to earn a college degree while working toward their high school diploma.
