The Twin Falls Albertsons location is among the list of 10 stores the grocery chain plans to divest in its proposed merger with Kroger. The list includes 10 Albertsons stores in Idaho, six of which are in Boise.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is proposing a new federal rule that would provide protection from the heat for people working outside. In the Gem State, there are no rules protecting workers from these harsh conditions, only recommendations. The new rule would require employers to give employees longer breaks, shade and water, and to have safety plans in place. Depending on how high temperatures rise, employers will need to meet safety standards.
With the weather outside hot the Idaho Transportation Maintenance crews will be on the lookout to assist Idaho Drivers in case they are in need of help. ITD workers will be checking on vehicles pulled over on the shoulder of the highways to make sure there isn’t an emergency. Motorists are encouraged to check their coolant levels, tires and pack extra water.
A ballot initiative to end Idaho’s closed primary elections and create a ranked-choice voting system for the general election has enough signatures to appear on the ballot for the Nov. 5 general election, according to the Idaho Secretary of State’s Office. In Idaho, ballot initiatives are a form of direct democracy where the people vote on whether or not to pass a law, independent of the Idaho Legislature.
Attorney Enrique Serna has a filed a federal lawsuit concerning the hangar collapse at the Boise Airport in January. Serna represents the families who were killed during the collapse. Serna is seeking 30 million dollars for the plaintiffs. 15 million a piece. Big D Builders, SBS, Speck Steel, and Inland Crane listed as defendants.
The person who died after being shot by law enforcement rangers in Yellowstone National Park on the Fourth of July had been shooting a semi-automatic rifle toward a dining facility at Canyon Village officials say. The deceased shooter was 28 year old Samson Lucas Bariah Fussner, of Florida who worked for a private company that operates in the park died at the scene.
