Saying she never offered her resignation, Former Pinecrest Academy principal Denise Kozlowski Shimacher has filed a complaint.  The Twin Falls school was launched in 2020.  Shimacher is now claiming that she was being paid a lower wage than less qualified male principals.  She also obtained a restraining order against a PTO Member who encouraged the board to fire her.



The body of a man was recovered yesterday in the Snake River. Twin Falls Deputies found the bodies east of the centennial waterfront park after witnesses say they saw him jump from a 60 foot climb wall.



A group that aims to support Indigenous communities in Idaho spoke out on last week about the firing of Johanna Jones, the state’s longtime Indian Education coordinator.  The shakeup comes as data has underlined alarming achievement gaps between the state’s tribal youth and the general population.



After state budget projections missed the mark by more than $120 million in May, budget officials were not expecting the state of Idaho to end its fiscal year on Sunday with a budget surplus. Officials say it was still too close to tell what exactly the state’s ending balance will be.



Yesterday marked day 1 for new laws in Idaho.  Now a greater supply of birth control will be covered by insurance.  You can buy a don’t tread on me license plate.  Public employees and teachers won’t be forced to call students by their preferred pronouns.  Viewing porn requires verification of age and libraries will be required to keep harmful material away from children. 



Several debris flows caused by a storm system on Sunday afternoon have impacted travel along Salmon River Road west of North Fork, Idaho.  Crews are working on clearing the debris flows and repairing the road so it is passable for residents and visitors.



The Idaho Department of Correction is looking for two South Boise Women's Correctional Center residents who walked away from the facility on Sunday.  37 year old Sarah Zumwalt and 30 year old Katy Buchanan were last seen on prison property at 8:47 p.m. on Sunday night.
