Natalie Pasco drained six 3-pointers and scored a season-high 27 points to lead Boise State past San Diego 62-54, yesterday at the San Diego Winter Classic. Boise State will open Mountain West play on Dec. 30 against Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo. Tipoff will occur at 12:30 p.m.
Boise State men's basketball had a chance at a tying 3-pointer with 19.5 seconds, but Max Rice's shot didn't fall to lead to a 66-61 loss to Washington State, yesterday at the Spokane Arena. Boise State returns from its holiday break to host Utah Valley, Friday Dec. 29.
Elsewhere for college basketball, for the men, U.C. Riverside defeated the Idaho Vandals last night 82 to 67. Oregon State defeated the Idaho State Bengals 76 to 57
On the high school scoreboard from yesterday, first for the boys, Twin Falls bruins told Idaho Falls no way with a score of 64 to 36. Canyon ridge defeated Weiser 59 to 43. American Falls defeated Gooding 53 to 45. Emmett squeaked past Lighthouse Christian 52 to 51.
For the Girls, Oakley defeated Declo 48 to 38.
As for the weekend games locally, for the boys Kimberly travels to Ontario for the TVCC High School Challenge. Caldwell will travel to Twin Falls to play Canyon Ridge and Declo goes to North Freemont. There are no local girl’s games on the schedule.
