Idaho Gov. Brad Little announced an executive order Tuesday to tighten up voter registration in the state ahead of the election this fall.  The order, called the Only Citizens Will Vote Act, will allow the Idaho secretary of state to “take all necessary steps” to prevent noncitizens from registering to vote.



About two-thirds of Idaho’s K-3 students are reading at grade level, according to results from a statewide reading exam held in the spring. While about 60,000 young readers are on pace, nearly 30,000 are behind, and proficiency levels are still behind pre-pandemic scores. Since 2019, statewide spring reading scores have trended slightly downward.



Attorney General Raúl Labrador’s office is seeking to intervene in a lawsuit challenging Idaho’s Blaine Amendment, a constitutional provision that blocks public funds from benefitting religious organizations, including schools. The lawsuit stems from a Middleton church’s former lease to use meeting space in a public charter school.



Aiming to help people facing food insecurity, Chobani with a factory in Twin Falls, crafted 'Super Milk,' a dairy product that can last months on a shelf. It will not be sold in stores at this time as it was designed to be donated. The 'Super Milk’ is said to have 50% more protein and 25% less sugar than traditional dairy milk.



The Cassia County Sheriff’s office say they are looking for a male subject that may have been involved in a battery and felony injury to a child. The incident occurred on June 24th around 11 p.m. The man wore a black sweater shirt and white shorts and was seen driving a black Dodge Ram with no front plate and a sunroof. He was last seen heading eastbound into Heyburn.

Lamb Weston violated federal securities laws as the frozen-potato giant rolled out a software system, according to a class action lawsuit. Lamb Weston is a leading producer of french fries and other frozen-potato products sold around the world. The company employs more than 1,000 people in Idaho.
